Pastors John & Tracy Stevenson have a genuine love for people and for spreading the gospel message of Jesus Christ. They have been married for over 20 years and have spent each of those years serving side by side in ministry. They have 5 children and 7 wonderful grandchildren.
Pastor John was born in 1968 to Albert & Rosella Stevenson. His mother is a licensed minister and raised him in an Independent Assembly of God church. At a very young he fell in love with music, especially southern gospel. His mother played the accordion & organ while John & his sister Julie sang along. Unfortunately, he didn't stay the course and fell into a world of drugs and alcohol abuse.
During this time he graduated high school and attended Kent State University for a degree in Human Services Technology. In college, he found himself spending countless hours at the on campus radio station more than on his studies. A faculty member suggested that he pursue a degree in broadcasting after finishing the degree in Human Services. Not wanting to spend another 2 years in college he decided to attend the Ohio School of Broadcasting Technique after college.
While at broadcasting school, John interned at a local hometown radio station and landed a full time job in radio upon graduation. He had also started his own disc jockey business years earlier which was becoming very successful at the same time. Still though, he could not escape his religious upbringing. God was working on his heart.
In 1991 he met Tracy Upton, a southern girl raised in the mountainous region of the Appalachians in West Virginia. She promised to go out on a date with him if he would come to church with her. On January 5, 1992 at the Geneva Church of God, Pastor Ralph Thomas led John in the sinner's prayer.
In May of that very same year John & Tracy were married and began their journey together.
Tracy is a self taught musician with a talent for harmonizing. Her talent blended with John's rich baritone voice make for a perfect combination. She is also a fantastic teacher of the Bible with a heart for the hurting, the distraught and the lost. Her southern charm and electric personality make her a joy to be around.
Tracy is a living testimony to the power and love of God. To look at this amazing young woman you would never imagine the things that God has brought her through. Through it all she has held faithfully to God's hand allowing him to lead her.
Together this couple have taken the message of Jesus Christ to thousands through the ministry of song and preaching the Gospel. They have had the privilege of singing with some top name artists in the realm of southern gospel music. Through it all they give all glory and honor to God for bringing them together and keeping His hands upon them through the years.
